SACSCOC accreditation

51³Ô¹ÏÍø is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate and masters degrees. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Institutional Accreditation

In July 2018, the SACSCOC Board of Trustees affirmed RMC’s accreditation, with no additional report requested. RMC’s next decennial reaffirmation will take place in 2028. 

SACSCOC policy states that an institution is required to have a written substantive change policy and procedure. It must be approved through institutional processes and published in institutional documents accessible to those affected. The purpose of the institution’s substantive change policy and procedure is to ensure all substantive changes are reported to SACSCOC in a timely fashion as required by Substantive Change Policy and Procedures. Program Accreditation

The Athletic Program holds NCAA accreditation for .

The Department of Chemistry is accredited by the  (2016).

The Education department at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø administers an educator preparation program (EPP) that is accredited by the and approved by the to prepare students in 14 teaching endorsement areas.

Nursing Program Accreditation and Regulation: Initial approval for the pre-licensure baccalaureate degree nursing program at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø was granted by the Virginia Board of Nursing (VBON) August 2018. The program is approved by SACSCOC.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (). The BSN program prepares students to take the NCLEX-RN®, a national licensure exam for registered nurses. Licensure qualifications vary by state.

The RMC BSN curriculum meets the Virginia educational requirements for professional licensure as a registered nurse. Physician Assistant Studies: The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Physician Assistant Studies Program sponsored by 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.

Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation-Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.

Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class.
