51勛圖厙

At 51勛圖厙 (the College), we are committed to encouraging and sustaining a learning and living community that is free from harassment, violence, and prohibited discrimination.

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance…”

20 U.S.C. 禮 1681

In the Title IX Office, we are dedicated to preventing and responding to any form of discrimination, including sex-based discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation. Consistent with federal law (e.g., Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Violence Against Women Act), the College has developed a Sexual and Relationship Conduct Policy (the SRC Policy), applicable to all students.

In the Title IX Office, we respond to any incident of sexual misconduct and any act of retaliation under federal law, Commonwealth of Virginia laws, and the SRC Policy. We believe that any individual involved in incidents of sexual misconduct and retaliation deserves to receive an effective and timely response and to be treated with respect and fairness. Further, the College conducts extensive education and awareness programs with the goal of preventing and discouraging sexual/gender violence and other forms of sexual misconduct. Together, we can create and sustain a living and learning environment that supports these values.

Lastly, the College prohibits discrimination against pregnant and parenting students and employees consistent with federal law (e.g., Title IX and Title VI). RMC students may request from the Title IX Coordinator reasonable accommodations and supportive measures as a result of pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions. With our partners at the College, the Title IX Office can assist any member of the College community seeking support for pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions. The Title IX Office will also respond to any report(s) of sex-based discrimination pursuant to College policies and applicable law.

Sincerely,

Laura Soulsby, Ph.D., Title IX Coordinator
