You’ve been accepted to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø! This is an amazing accomplishment, and you’ve done well in getting this far. Wondering what work is ahead? Here are some of our steps to make sure you’re ready for your first semester as a Yellow Jacket!

First Steps After Deposit

Complete these steps FIRST after submitting your enrollment deposit. Successful completion of these items will allow you to progress to New Student Forms and other onboarding tasks.

Set up your RMC email account

After you submit your RMC enrollment deposit, you will receive an email with the subject line “Set up your RMC email account today!” This email will walk you through the process of establishing your RMC credentials.

If you have problems with the RMC Student Email or MyMaconWeb, please contact RMC Information & Technology Services (ITS) Service Desk at (804) 752-8500 or at helpline@rmc.edu.

RSVP for your New Student Registration & Family Orientation Day

Plan to attend this on-campus, in-person, full-day event (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) that takes place on June 21, June 24, or June 26. By the end of the day, you’ll have your fall course schedule (meeting 1:1 with an advisor to select and review your classes) and lots of new CONNECTIONS! You’ll meet classmates, Captains, and members of our community who are excited to see you thrive at RMC! Your family is also invited to join you on this day and attend optional programming that will run concurrently with your events! The ‘New Student Orientation & Registration Day RSVP’ form will be located on under New Student Forms.

PLEASE NOTE: These dates are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students can indicate a need for an alternate registration experience if they have a conflict with available dates on the RSVP form.

Clear your calendar

You will be busy Thursday, August 29, and all weekend long for New Student Orientation & Welcome Week Kick-Off. All new students (first-year, transfer, commuting, residential, and international) are expected to participate in New Student Orientation from Thursday, August 29 to Sunday, September 1. Schedules will be available in early August.

PLEASE NOTE: Fall Athletes and International Students move in prior and should follow the directions provided by the coaches or the Office of International Education.

Complete Your New Student Forms

Before you begin the forms listed below, we recommend that you bookmark . You’ll log in to MMW with your RMC username and permanent password. This platform houses a lot of useful, personalized information. For now, you can focus on your New Student Forms. When you enter MMW, click ‘Student’ at the top of the page, and drop down to ‘New Students’ – this landing page tracks the submission of your New Student Forms.

New Student Registration Orientation & Registration Day RSVP

You will select Your New Student Registration & Family Orientation Day (June 21, June 24, OR June 26). Once this is submitted, check your go.rmc.edu email for confirmation and additional information.

Pre-Advising Worksheet & Fall Course Preference Form

During your New Student Registration & Family Orientation Day, you will register for Fall 2024 classes. Based on the information you (the student) provide, academic staff will gain an insight into your academic goals, co-curricular interests, and identified or perceived strengths and weaknesses. Our staff will use this information to pre-select two of your fall semester courses. Completing the Pre-Advising Worksheet will help ensure your advising session is personal, productive, and addresses your individual needs.

Residence Life Housing, Commuting, and Meal Plan Selection

All students living on campus (Residence Housing) or off campus (Commuter) must apply for housing. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students are required to live on campus all four years, so housing is guaranteed; we just call it an application process! You will also be able to create your housing profile and engage with other new students through this process!

Disability Services Disclosure Form

All students must complete this form to acknowledge that accommodations are available at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, and to learn how to request accommodations for physical, psychological, or learning differences or disabilities.

Student Information Form

This multi-section form includes personal and parent information verification, emergency and missing contact information, tax dependency status, 1098-T tuition statement information and financial responsibilities.

Health History Record

Access the student health portal to fill out three electronic forms AND upload your provider signed Immunization Record to complete your Health History Record. This is required of all new students. Student Athletes, recruited to play a varsity sport, must complete these steps AND complete the New Athlete Pre-Participation Packet (this packet opens May 1).

Vehicle Registration/Waiver Form

Register the vehicle you will have on campus or request a vehicle waiver.

International Student Reminders
  • Don’t forget to waive the vehicle registration fee if you will not have a car on campus!  
  • Select 19 meal plan.  
  • [IMPORTANT!] You must have the Health History Record signed by your health care provider while you are still in your home country. Access the student health portal to fill out three electronic forms AND upload your provider signed Immunization Record to complete your Health History Record by August 1, 2024. Bring the original with you to campus. Obtaining the immunization history, receiving required immunizations, and the health care provider verification will take more time than you imagine, so start working on it as soon as possible!  
  • New students must complete the required immunizations prior to arriving at RMC for the fall. If you are unable to receive the required immunizations by August 1, we may have to defer your enrollment to a later semester after you have received the required shots.

Check your RMC email

This will be your main point of contact with your professors, advisors, and college officials. Be sure to check your email frequently so you can stay up-to-date with what’s happening on campus!

Review the Parent Portal Access Information

Students can grant access to parents or other family members after they register for fall classes. Granting permission to a family member will allow them to view financial information (your bill), financial aid information, and academic information as you direct.

Check your student account balance

Student bills will be available in early July. You can view your bill on by clicking on the ‘Finances’ tab.

Submit your final transcript(s)

All final transcripts (high school, dual enrollment, college) and test scores (AP/IB) are due BEFORE you arrive in August. Be sure they are sent by your high school and/or colleges!

Get your computer & cell phone ready

51³Ô¹ÏÍø and click on ‘Get Connected’ – find your device and follow the steps to onboard your device! After you’ve done that, download and install your free Office 365 subscription. This is also available on the ‘Get Connected’ page of O365!

Buy your textbooks

After you register for classes, visit the to find and purchase your textbooks! For many texts, there are affordable rental and used book options available to students!

Also make sure to register for the Yellow Jacket Loyalty Program with the Campus Store! When you create an account, you will be able to shop on the website, place online orders, and receive points on all purchases (both in-store and online)!

Bring employment documentation

If you plan to work on campus, you MUST have original documents that show your identity and authorization to work. Copies WILL NOT be accepted.
